Eskişehir, founded by the Phrygians in 1000 BC. is located on the banks of the Porsuk River where it overlooks the Phrygian Valley. The city is known as “a university town” which has one of the largest student enrollments in the world. Eskişehir is the command center of Türkiye’s first Tactical Air Force Headquarters of NATO. The city has a significant population of Turkic Crimean Tatars and emigrants from Balkan countries. Eskişehir offers a perfect model of municipality administration and services.
Day 1
Early morning transfer to high speed train. Meeting at Eskişehir train station and transfer to the hotel. Kurşunlu Mosque Kulliyah, an old town complex of classical Ottoman architecture holding calligraphy, miniature, marble arts, gilding and handicraft shops.
Museum of Meerschaum, homage to the region’s wonderful white rock in its artistically crafted form. Carved into beads, necklaces, earrings and tobacco pipes.
Odunpazarı with elegant pastel-shaded traditional houses with overhanging stories and wood framed shutters on narrow stone streets. Lunch of regional tastes.
Afternoon : Free time for shopping at Atlıhan Local Artisan’ s Shops. Wax–Statues Museum of famous politicians , artists and other celebrities. Comtemporary Glass Arts Museum. Dinner at hotel.
Day 2
Departure after breakfast for Köprübaşı at city center and boat tour at Porsuk River. Visit to Kentpark, a beautiful city park full of interesting sights and activities. Enjoy your regional lunch at a Crimean Tatar Restaurant.
Afternoon : Science, Culture and Art Park with a Fairy Tale Castle, a Pirate Ship and Water Sports. After a short walk visit the Science & Experiments Center and the Space Home, Underground World. Visit to the Tunnel Aquarium at the Underwater World and the Zoo. Evening transfer to the train station for high speed train to İstanbul.
